Linda Kazmarek

 

PA ~For someone who doesn't know about Linda Kazmarek, please give our readers a brief synopsis of yourself as an artist.  

I am a trained pianist, a graduate of the Peabody Institute, who has chosen to use the gifts that God has given to her to compose, arrange and perform Christian Music.

PA ~ Who are your influenced by, musically?

Michael W. Smith, current artist, J.S. Bach from the past.

PA ~ I understand you have a CD called "Believe", what is the listener in store for?

The listener is in store for three original compositions, "Believe", " Faith" and "88 Keys of Praise".  Also some of your favorite contemporary praise and worship music arranged for the piano, such as "Here I am to Worship", "Above All" and "Friends Medley- Friends, That's What Love is For, Place in this World".

PA ~ Do you perform solo or normally with a group?

I perform solo.

PA ~ Any performances coming up you'd like to plug?

I will be promoting my new Christmas CD which is called "It's Christmas" in Christian Bookstores with live performances, as well as several Church concerts in the fall.

PA ~ During your musical journey so far, any interesting (funny, bizarre, highlight, nightmare etc...) stories come to mind you'd like to share with us?

During my musical journey, I have found so much joy in playing, sharing my music, touching the hearts of many and just watching their reaction to my music.

PA ~ When recording in studio, are you a "hands on" artist or do you have an engineer and/or studio you normally work with?

When I record in a studio, it is a professional one where I have an engineer working with me.  The Studio that I normally work with is Omega in Rockville, MD.   

PA ~ How is the CD being received?

"Believe" has been very well received.

PA ~ Do you have a favorite composition on the CD?

Yes, I have several, but " Here I Am to Worship" and "Believe" are probably my favorites.

PA ~ How did you become interested in music? 

Music was very important in my parent's home.  My mother had a beautiful solo soprano voice and sang in church and in the community.  My brothers took piano. At age six, I wanted to take piano lessons as well.  The piano teacher felt that I was too young, but my mother convinced her to give me a chance.  After my first lesson she agreed to teach me.

PA ~ Do you perform outside of your hometown? 

Yes, I do perform outside of my hometown.
